School Supply Lists
Kindergarten
Coles Kindergarten Supply List 2025-2026
Here is a list of supplies your child will need to bring to school.
Labeled with your child’s name on it:
-1 backpack (no “wheelie” backpacks please & large enough to store items daily)
-A set of extra seasonally appropriate clothes, including socks and underwear
-1 oversized shirt for a smock (something your child can put on independently)
-1 individual photo of your child (cubby)
-1 family photo (classroom family tree)
-Headphones (to remain in the class until the end of year for classroom iPads)
Other supplies to be kept in school:
-24 sharpened pencils (golf sized or regular sized)
-6 large glue sticks
-3 packs of 24 crayons
-1 pack of colored pencils
-1 pack of washable markers (thick or thin)
-6 dry erase markers (black)
-4 highlighters (yellow)
-1 play doh container
*Depending on your child’s teacher, you will be asked to purchase either a 1 inch Binder or Primary Journal (writing space on bottom, large picture space on the top) *linked here*. Note: teacher will be in contact in August regarding more specifics.
If you wish to purchase other items for the class, here are donations:
-We are always looking for additional art supplies-
- sequins, gems, feathers, tissue paper, googly eyes, yarn, string, buttons, pipe cleaners, beads, tape, pom-poms, seasonal stickers, newspaper, magazines, index cards, post-its
-In addition, we could always use tissues, baby wipes and paper towels
If you need assistance in providing these supplies for your child, please let the office know and the supplies will be provided for you.

1st Grade
J. Ackerman Coles Elementary School Suggested Supply List for First Grade
The following is a list of general supplies your child will need for first grade:
- One package of black dry erase markers
- A block eraser
- 4 glue sticks
- A 2 pocket folder to be used for school mail
- An old shirt or smock labeled with your child’s name in large letters on the front
- 2 boxes of tissues
- One single spiral notebook labeled with “Poetry Notebook” and your child’s name
- One box of crayons (24 count)
- One blunt point pair of kid’s scissors
- One box of washable markers (12 count)
- One box of sharpened #2 pencils
- A pair of headphones (labeled with you child's name)
Optional supplies to help keep our classroom clean and germ-free:
Tissues
Baby wipes

2nd Grade
2nd Grade School Supply List 2025-2026
At School:
- 2 heavy-duty folders with 2 pockets (Labeled Take home & Spanish)
- Pencil box to hold supplies
- 24 sharpened pencils
- 1 eraser
- 1 pencil sharpener
- 6 large glue sticks
- 1 marble composition book
- 1 box of colored pencils (12 count or smaller)
- 1 box of crayons (24 count)
- 1 box of markers (12 count)
- 1 pair of scissors
- 1 pack of 3x3 Post-its
- 6 dry erase markers (fine tip black ONLY)
- Headphones (labeled in a ziploc bag)
- 1 leak-proof refillable water bottle labeled with your child’s name.
Optional supplies to help keep our classroom clean and germ-free: Tissues, Wipes, Paper towels

3rd Grade
What do I need for 3rd grade?
Below are some items that are needed for 3rd grade:
- 1 composition notebook with at least 80 sheets. (No spiral notebooks)
- 4 pocket folders
- 1 large pencil case that will hold the following items:
- 1 package of sticky notes
- 10 sharpened pencils
- 3 Glue Sticks
- 1 block eraser or eraser caps for pencils
- Scissors
- 2 dry erase markers (any color)
- 1 dry erase eraser (a small piece of felt works great!)
- 1 gallon sized Ziploc bag to hold the following items:
- Colored pencils and/or crayons and/or marker
- Colored pencils and/or crayons and/or marker
- 1 pair of earbuds or headphones in a Ziploc baggie, labeled with your child’s name
- 1 leak-proof refillable water bottle labeled with your child’s name. Preferably a plastic water bottle rather than a metal one.
- A box of tissues for classroom use (optional)
- A sketch book (optional)
*If you have difficulty with purchasing any of these items, please let your child’s teacher know.
4th Grade
Fourth Grade Supply List
Suggested Supply List for Fourth Grade
2025-2026
*Please do not send in anything other than the items listed below without permission.
*Do not panic if you do not have the supplies listed for the first day of school!
*Some additional supplies may need to be purchased per teacher request.
In School Supplies Needed:
• 2 Marble Composition Books 100 Sheets, Wide-ruled (Please do not label them.)
• 2 boxes of #2 pencils
• 2 Folders with Pockets (Please do not label.)
• 1 Pair of Earbuds or Headphones in a Ziploc Baggie, (Labeled with student’s first and last name)
• 1 Leak-proof Refillable Water Bottle (labeled with student’s first and last name)
• 1 Art Smock (labeled with student’s first and last name)
• 3 Packs of 3 by 3 Post-it Notes (be prepared to refill this item)
• 5 BLACK Fine Tip Style Dry Erase Expo Markers (no other colors & be prepared to refill this item)
• 2 Boxes of Tissues (be prepared to refill this item)
At Home Supplies Needed:
• Half-circle protractor
• Pencils
• 1 glue stick
• 1 small pair of scissors
• 1 12 inch ruler (inches / centimeters)
• Basic calculator
• 1 package of white loose-leaf lined paper with pink margins
